Typical of Blizzard games, Starcraft II controls start out dead simple but allow some pretty advanced commands once you’ve mastered them.

I think my game could benefit from a timer function. Perhaps I’ll assign a button to listen for one, two, or three presses, corresponding to 60, 90, and 120second timers, to help me with my pacing.
Or, I’m considering the StarCraft II fire alarm. Set a button to quickly target my command center and other buildings with lift-off abilities to take off into the air, and perhaps also select all my SCVs and put them on auto-repair. But will it be zerg-rush-proof?

This sounds cool, I need to try the UltraShake, and let the macro press the e key “quickly” for me. Dead Space 2 is frantic enough to remind me of Serious Sam…

yeah, you never know when a necromorph is about to pop out right behind you. What bothers me, though, is when they lose their legs and just keep crawling, and crawling

    hi walter!
A configuration for Black Ops is included in the IDI Content Pack v1.07.
Grab it from the IDI Content page or download it directly.

The Black Ops config supports Black Ops controls in the IDI console and comes with one set of suggested controls and three background skins. Expect to see some strategic macros for Black Ops soon!

Awesome! I really love the C4 & Claymore macro and the press/release grenade throw.

Black Ops totally sucks until you unlock claymores.

Agreed, claymores make it so much easier to prevent random dudes from gunning you down/stabbing you from behind

How does one install Tims profiles to the IDI device configuator? E-mail me or post please.

      WJ,

An updated and complete installer is now available on the DLC page. Run the installer into the /IDI Device directory. Then, select the Black Ops macro and alias file for each profile you want to configure. Once done, Tim’s macros will be available to assign to your keys, and his images will be available for your background. Finally, configure the profiles according to Tim’s suggestions. You can follow the screenshots, or for your convenience I’ve diagrammed the assignments here:

      Run-n-Gun: Full Auto
      Button 1: Fire (Left click)
      Button 2: Press/Release: Fire & Prone // Jump & Reload
      Button 3: Lethal Grenade / Tomahawk (g)
Button 4: Dual Weapons Rapid Fire

      Run-n-Gun: Semi Auto
      Button 1: Semi-auto Rapid Fire
      Button 2: Tactical Grenade (4)
      Button 3: Lethal Grenade / Tomohawk (g)
Button 4: Dual Weapons Rapid Fire

      Demolition: Full Auto
      Button 1: Fire (Left click)
      Button 2: Press/Release: Fire & Prone // Jump & Reload
      Button 3: Lethal Grenade / Tomahawk (g)

Sweet, Aaron! When you get your Fragpedal, see if you can come up with some more macros for Black Ops. If you’re having any difficulty, shoot us an e-mail at info@goodworksystems.com

Wow! Nice work Kimo! I really like the timed press for suit modes. What a pain it can be switching between modes. Your “Stealth Shot” sounds cool too. I only played the demo of Crysis 2 but I think I might give it a try with some of your macros. Thanks!

    Thanks Tim!
The stealth shot works best when you are sniping from a distance. You don’t lose suit power very fast when you stay still, then when you fire the shot you are only visible for such a short amount of time it makes it extremely difficult to be found.

Yeah, I hear it’s bad, but I still want to play it. I havta. And I want to see all that bad taste stuff, run and gun is fun once in a while.

The most unique thing I’ve made is a ladder that’s surrounded by lava so you’re surrounded when you go down. I think it looks pretty sweet 🙂

[…] Q – What actions do you recommend gamers put on their foot pedal, and how are your users using the new button types enabled by IDI? (Obviously you guys didn’t ask this question but I think it might help you. It’s an extension of the first question, but I wanted to try to break up my response into smaller bits). A – Press/Release buttons, for example, allow you to bind different actions on the press and release of a button. Maybe you want to pull the pin on a grenade with the press, and throw the grenade by releasing the button. We’re also very proud to introduce timed buttons, also known as Tap/Press/Hold buttons. They allow you to trigger different commands based on how long the button is held down, and can completely change the way you play a game. For example. I’ve configured a Tap/Press/Hold button in Dead Space, so that a button tap makes Isaac stomp on a monster’s head, and holding it down just 200ms makes you run. Another configuration lets you select weapon 1 on a tap and weapon 2 on a short hold. Our users are surprised at how quickly a ‘hold’ command triggers. Even though it has to wait to make sure the button press is longer than a tap, we’re still talking about 1/5 of a second to trigger a press, maybe 1/3 of a second for a hold, and of course taps are recognized instantly. Toggle buttons have been very useful to our customers in games like Crysis, Call of Duty and Medal of Honor, where aiming your weapon requires holding down ‘right click.’ With a toggle button, you only have to press a button once to toggle aim mode and can remain aiming until you toggle out. Using toggle for functions like aim, crouch, and run means you free up your hand on the keyboard and on the mouse so you can concentrate on other tasks. On our blog, we have some very good examples of how users have configured their Fragpedal for games like Black Ops and Dead Space 2. […]
